The Last Station

The Last Station is a German biographical film about Leo Tolstoy, based on a 1990 biographical novel of the same name by Jay Parini. It stars Christopher Plummer as Tolstoy.
It premiered at the 2009 Telluride Film Festival.
Sony Pictures Classics acquired distribution rights and released the film an awards-qualifying limited run on December 23, 2009, with a wider release in January 15, 2010.
It is also scheduled to be released in Germany on January 21, 2010.
Plot
The film explores the turbulent final year in the life of the Russian writer and philosopher and his troubled marriage.
