The last SongThe Last Song is a 2010 American entry at the age of drama film developed with the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name. The film was directed by Julie Anne Robinson in his film debut as a director and co-written by Sparks and Jeff Van Wie. The Last Song stars Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Greg Kinnear and Bobby Coleman and follows a troubled teenager as she is reunited with his estranged father and falls in love one summer in a quiet town of South Beach in the United States. The film is distributed by Touchstone Pictures.

Sparks came to write scripts of both the film and the novel. Sparks completed the script in January 2009, before the end of the novel, making The Last Song his first script to be optioned for film. The adjustment, originally from North Carolina as the novel has changed to Georgia State after campaigning for months for production. At the start of production in Tybee Island, Georgia, near Savannah, The Last Song became the first film to be shot and put in Tybee Island. The shoot lasted from June 15 to August 18, 2009 with much of what happens on the beach of the island and shore. The Last Song was originally scheduled for wide release January 8, 2010, but has since been postponed to March 31, 2010.

Plot
At seventeen, Veronica “Ronnie” Miller (Miley Cyrus) is still as rebellious as it was the day after her parents divorced father ugly and subsequent relocation to Georgia three years ago. Once a prodigy of classical piano under the tutelage of his father, Steve Miller (Kinnear Greg), Ronnie now rejects the instrument and has not spoken with his father since his departure. While Juilliard School has been interested in her since she was young, Ronnie refuses to attend.

Now, Steve is given the opportunity to reunite with his estranged daughter when her mother, Kim (Kelly Preston) send a rebellious teenager and his younger brother, Jonah (Bobby Coleman), to spend the summer with him. Steve, a former Juilliard School professor and concert pianist, now living a quiet life in Tybee Island, Georgia, the small beach town where he grew up working in a local church stained glass to replace the lost church fire.

On arrival, Ronnie is miserable, hostile and defensive towards everyone around, including handsome, popular Blakelee Will (Liam Hemsworth) – until, after she and will be involved in the protection of a loggerhead turtle nest, She discovers that he is deeper than she thought. As Ronnie falls for Will, who also manages a bond with his father Steve through what they have in common is music.
