Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is 2011 a American fantasy film of the adventure and the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

In the film, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is accompanied by Angelica (Penelope Cruz) in his quest for the Fountain of Youth, off the infamous real life, the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).

The plot is based on the novel On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers, which also inspired LucasArts game The Secret of Monkey Island. It is directed by Rob Marshall, written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

The film is being distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and will be released in the UK on May 18, 2011, Australia on May 19, 2011, and the United States and Canada on May 20, 2011. The launch will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3D, as well as the traditional two-dimensional format and IMAX. The film was first announced in 2008 and principal photography began in June 2010.

The launch is the first of the series to be directed by Rob Marshall and not Gore Verbinski. It is also the first film in the series features fictionalized versions of historical figures such as Blackbeard, George II of Great Britain, Henry Pelham, Carteret and John Fernando VI of Spain.

Be the first Pirates of the Caribbean film to be released in 3D and the second 3D movie Jerry Bruckheimer, following the 2009 movie G-Force. It is also the fifth Disney film to use Dolby 7.1 surround sound. While previous films in the Pirates franchise have been filmed in the Caribbean Sea, On Stranger Tides was filmed mostly in Hawaii.

Plot
Captain Jack Sparrow comes across a woman from his past named Angelica. He is not sure if he loves her, or is a scammer who is trying to use to find the legendary Fountain of Youth.

After Angelica Jack forces on the ship of Blackbeard, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, is a new adventure. During the trip, Captain Jack Sparrow must face new challenges such as zombies and mermaids, to reach the Fountain of Youth.
