Fast Five (also known in markets outside the United States and Fast & Furious Fast & Furious 5 and 5: Rio Heist) is a street racing 2011 action film directed by Justin Lin. It is the fifth film in The Fast and the Furious film series and fourth in terms of chronology preceded by Fast & Furious (2009).

The film is also the first of the series to be released in IMAX and is scheduled to be released on April 29, 2011 in the United States. The film has opened to generally good reviews by critics early.

Plot
The movie continues where the fourth delivery, before The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, the former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) who leads an assault on the bus carrying Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) to prison. Toretto is released and the party is divided, heading to South America.

O’Conner and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) come to Rio de Janeiro, hoping to find a Sunday, but his friend Vince (Matt Schulze) has not heard from him for weeks. Vince O’Conner and Mia needs to help in a job that had queued for Toretto: stealing cars of a train. The job goes wrong when there are warnings O’Conner DEA agents on the train, and cars had been seized in a raid. Toretto is late, and realizes that the crew is only interested in one of three cars.

With the help of Mia, who are able to steal the Ford GT40 and after the crew escaped, but there is a shootout and three DEA agents are killed in the crossfire. O’Conner and Toretto escape, only to be captured by Hernán Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), a corrupt businessman in Brazil and the owner of the car. After killing the men of Reyes, Mia Toretto O’Conner and perform on his safe house in the Favela and start taking the car apart to find out what it was after Reyes.

Vincent returns to the safe house hours later, claiming he was being followed, but gives himself away when it comes to having a computer chip DVD player to fit in the car. Toretto accessing files on the chip to discover it is a shipping manifest from the business activities of Kings’, and evidence of how the money is more than one hundred million dollars.

Alerted by the three police officers killed on board the train, the federal agent DSS Lucas Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) comes to Rio with a team to locate fugitive Toretto. With the help of Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky), a local police officer, and his knowledge of the roads around the city is able to locate the factory where Toretto and O’Conner are created, but come amid an attack Reyes perpetrated by men.

Mia O’Conner and flee across the rooftops while Toretto escape through the alleys of the slum, saving Neves of the shots in the process. Regrouping after the attack, Toretto O’Conner and decides to go after Reyes. Together a team of robbery with the intention of stealing all the money laundering Reyes. Invade one of its distribution centers and save several million dollars, prompting Reyes to use his connections to move all their money to a safe place: the vault of evidence at a police station.

While planning the robbery, Toretto O’Conner and realize they can not find the car fast enough to evade the security cameras in the police garage, and steal four police cars. Meanwhile, the crew of purchasing a dome model used by Reyes, a copy of your footprint, and access to food security within the station, while Vince back in time to save men Mia Reyes, gain the confidence of Toretto again.

Before they can act, Hobbs and fugitive apprehension team arrive, and after a long fight with Toretto, the arrest of several members of the crew. Hobbs plans that will take you directly to the airport and fly to the United States, but Reyes usues their contacts to find your route and convoy attacks. Most apprehension team are killed before convincing Neves O’Conner to release them so they can help Hobbs. Revenge by killing her friends, joins the crew of Toretto Hobbs. Vince later dies of a gunshot wound.

The theft takes place the next day, with Hobbs using an armored truck to enter the testing room. O’Conner and Toretto ensure the vault, and using a pair of modified police cars, rip through the city with the dome on the trailer. Lue Han (Sung Kang) and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) ride shotgun in the second pair of police cars, buy and Toretto O’Conner an advantage over the Rio police.

The final confrontation takes place in one of the bridges of the city, with Toretto O’Conner cut loose from the vault and doubling back to get Reyes, destroying his car in the process. Reyes survives, only to be shot in the head by Hobbs. Hobbs refuses to let Toretto in the wild, but can not stop, so it is committed to Toretto O’Conner and twenty-four hours beginning head. He opens the vault to discover that there is no money inside, and realizes that Toretto and O’Conner had changed in transit for which he had used to plan the robbery. Back at the safe house, the crew to open the safe to find the money to Reyes, which are divided among themselves and go their separate ways.

Tego bet (Tego Calderon) and Rico (Don Omar) in Monaco, Rome visits Tej (Ludacris) in the garage of the latter in Goa and Han and Gisele (Gal Gadot), now in a relationship with each other, are promoting Europe. O’Conner and pregnant Mia retire to a beach in the Pacific, where they are greeted by Toretto and Elena. While the speech of women, O’Conner Toretto challenges to a final race with no pressure and no prizes for deciding who is really the best pilot.

In a post-credits scene, Hobbs is shown sitting at his desk when Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes), the undercover agent 2 Fast 2 Furious, comes with a file in a criminal: Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), a former girlfriend of Dom Toretto is, who supposedly died during the events of Fast & Furious, which means that she survived.
